Sonic Unleashed for November, Aliens slips to ‘09 (MadWorld)

Sega has unveiled a whole bunch of release dates for its upcoming line-up, including Sonic Unleashed, Aliens: Colonial Marines and Space Siege.

The, dare we say, promising-looking Sonic Unleashed has been given a strong November date, while Aliens FPS Colonial Marines has unfortunately slipped into 2009. Golden Axe: Beast Rider, if anyone cares, hits shelves in September.

Chris Taylor’s Space Siege has also been branded with a June 27 date and Yakuza 2 is tapped for September.

Sonic Team NOT developing Sonic Unleashed Wii (Sonic Unleashed)

The Wii version of Sonic Unleashed is not being developed by Sonic Team, but instead by Sonic Rush developer Dimps, says Nintendo Power magazine.

According to NeoGaf forum posters, the article said that Dimps’ version of the game will use an entirely different engine to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, include different levels and gameplay elements, and heavily focus on 2D gameplay.

So whilst Wii owners should expect a game somewhat different to what was seen in the trailer earlier this year, there’s every chance they’ll get a fantastic Sonic game anyway.
